Texas Cottage Food Operation

Twisted Sifter Bakery operates as a Texas Cottage Food Production Operation (CFPO). We follow all Texas Cottage Food Law requirements. Our homemade foods are produced in a private residence and sold directly to Texas consumers.
Home-Based Operation
We produce approved foods in a private kitchen under Texas law. State inspections are not required for cottage food operations.
Texas Regulations
We comply with all Texas Cottage Food Law provisions. SB 541 updates (Sept 2025) expanded our permitted categories.
Direct Sales Only
We sell directly to consumers within Texas. Online ordering and home pickup are available per state guidelines.

"THIS PRODUCT WAS PRODUCED IN A PRIVATE RESIDENCE THAT IS NOT SUBJECT TO GOVERNMENTAL LICENSING OR INSPECTION."
This exact statement appears on all our labels as required by Texas law. The wording and capitalization cannot be modified.

Texas law requires cottage food operators to display business name and address. DSHS registration (available Sept 2025) allows use of ID numbers instead.
Allergen Disclosure
Texas requires disclosure of nine major allergens: eggs, nuts, peanuts, soy, milk, wheat, fish, shellfish, and sesame.
Our products may contain one or more allergens. Customers with allergies should inquire about specific ingredients before ordering.
We provide detailed ingredient information upon request. Custom orders include full ingredient labels when required.
Safe Handling Instructions
Under SB 541 (effective Sept 2025), refrigerated TCS foods require special handling instructions. Currently, we offer only non-TCS baked goods.
"SAFE HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS: To prevent illness from bacteria, keep this food refrigerated or frozen until the food is prepared for consumption."This statement applies if we offer TCS items in the future.

Refunds & Returns
All products are made-to-order. Sales are final once prepared.
- 48-hour cancellation notice required for refunds
- Custom orders non-refundable within 48 hours
- Contact us within 24 hours if unsatisfied
Pickup & Delivery
Texas cottage food products must stay within state borders.
- Direct consumer sales only (Texas residents)
- Online ordering available statewide
- Delivery available in service area (fee applies)
- Out-of-state shipping not permitted
Liability & Responsibility
We comply with all Texas Cottage Food Laws. Consumers assume responsibility for allergen notifications and safe handling.
Please inform us of allergies before ordering. Handle products safely after pickup or delivery.
Privacy & Media Use
Your Privacy Matters
We collect only order-essential information: name, phone, email, and pickup instructions.
We never sell or share your personal information. Third-party payment processors (Square, Venmo) have separate privacy policies.
Photos & Testimonials
Submitted photos, reviews, or testimonials may be used for marketing purposes. This includes social media content shared on Instagram or Facebook.
Contact us if you prefer your content not be reposted.

Wolfforth Farmers Markets
Find us at rotating local markets throughout the season. Fresh-baked goods available while supplies last—arrive early for best selection. In March of 2026, Wolfforth began offering Saturday & Sunday markets.

Frontier Exchange Co.
Come out to the new Co-Op! Frontier Exchange is the new Monday evening market for Twisted Sifter Bakery! Indoors and located on the south side of town to service the new loop being built.
Community Pop-Ups
We partner with local coffee shops, breweries, and community spaces for special pop-up events featuring exclusive menu items. Check our calendar for more info!
